An Introduction And The History To The Hitoshirezu Village

The Hitoshirezu Village located in the Hino lands of the Twelve Demon kingdoms, is the sanctuary for the Phoenix.  It consists of and old style Japanese style Village, it somewhat resembles the Edo Period.  At the southern end of the village is a long stone stair way that leads up Hino Hill to the Hino Shrine, where Phoenix’s are born and can take shelter if need be.  From The Shrine courtyard there is another set of stone stairs that lead up to The Hino Palace  which is located on top of the hill looking over the village and the kingdom.   Going from the Palace, to the west is the Bamboo Forest, which leads up the western mountain pass.  Up the mountain just a bit natural Hot Springs can be found.  There are also a lot of caves in this area of the Mountains.  During winter this is where Xiachan comes and sleeps. If you continue up the mountains you will eventually leave the Hino lands and enter King Lutaz's Kingdom Kyou, which is a land of never ending winter.   North of the Palace is the Hino Shrine and The Hitoshirezu Village itself just down the hill.

Further north of the village down the man made path the northern mountains this is the northern border of the lands.  Over the mountains is the Tei Pai Kingdom which is Queen Seung-Mina's domain.  To the east is another forest with a stream that leads to a waterfall.  From there it turns into a river and runs into the Astral Lake.  That is the eastern broader. To the south is a rocky mountain pass which leads into the En Kai Kingdom where the current Queen, Queen Shizuru rules.

The Phoenix Garden can be located at the lake.  It is paradise but can only be entered with the by a Phoenix.  Its water supply is cut of from the main area.  The garden itself consists of a small pond with a light water fall.  There are fruit trees there that grew a special type of fruit that can only be found in the garden.  It is in small valley that echoes with the sound of the water fall and is filled with the smell of the flowers that grow there.  A lot of Phoenix’s come here in the spring and summer with their partners for the mating season.

The history of the Village goes back to the time when the first demons were born on Mt. Hou from both fruits of the Genesis and Sephiroth trees.  The first Phoenix Suzaku was born from the fruits of the Sephiroth Tree.  She came to the land the Village now is in and claimed it for herself.  As other Demons claimed other lands for themselves.  On the Southern hilltop on the centre platform she built the Hino Shrine for herself and all her future Kind as a sanctuary should any Phoenix need shelter or safety.  The top platform of the hill above the Shrine she built the Palace.  After that was done she built the Village.

War soon broke out over where territories and boarders expanded to.  Also over the concern of over beings coming to the demons realms.  The discovery of what happens when Demons mix breed also had a strong concern when the Hybrid Predators were discovered.  So the land was divided into twelve sections and The Demon Council was formed with a representative from each land and Kingdom.

Suzaku became the first Empress of The Hino lands and joined the Council as the lands representative.  Suzaku agreed to the boarder lines she was gives as she had no intention of make her new home The Hitoshirezu Village a warring land.  She created Phoenix eggs in the shrine using a magic item known as the Eye Of Ra.  She also came up with the idea of the Phoenix agreement seeing as Phoenix’s had the uncanny ability to resurrect themselves in fire, as long as there life essence can get to the fire they were born in.

Suzaku decided that the Shrine would be the best Place for Phoenix’s to hatch there eggs.  So using some of her Life Essence she created the sacred fire that even today burns in the Shrine.  Suzaku was more then happy with the land she had built.  The Eastern Boarder at the time was a crater as the Astral Lake would not appear for many Millions of years later when Nami would be born.  This to was the same for the Forest Stream, waterfall and river that flow there today.

Seeing as the Shrine was mainly there for Phoenix’s.  Suzaku made separate rules from the Shrine as from the kingdom itself.  These were as followed.

Rule 1:  Any phoenix can over rule the decision of the current Queen or King that has to do with the well being of the Shrine.

Rule 2:  All decisions made by the Phoenix’s Guardians of the Shrine must be obeyed without Question.

Rule 3:  Physical fighting is forbidden to take place with in the Shrine.  By punishment of death.  No blood shall be spilt with in its walls.

Rule 4:  If anyone drags a Phoenix out who is in the Shrine they to will be subdue to Punishment.

Rule 5:  No one damage or destroy and part of the Shrine or property that can be located in it.

Suzaku even came up with a special rule that had to do with the whole kingdom not just the Shrine.

Rule: If the current Queen or King make decision or act in away that could threaten the Kingdom.  Any Phoenix can retaliate against it and Kill them without any punishment being forced upon them.

The Hitoshirezu Village became the peaceful place Suzaku had dreamed it would be.  Thought the laws were tough they did the job of maintaining peace and keeping everyone safe.  Yearly Festivals also began and even weekly was when the main town street was closed off and a big fire was lit at night for everyone to come out and celebrate.  Suzaku also passes some new laws for the village.

Rule 1:  The Village will be a peaceful.  It will not go to war with any other kingdom.

Rule 2:  Everyone should feel safe in the Village.  Aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.

Rule 3:  Everyone has a voice. And everyone ones shall be heard.

Rule 4:  No one and I mean no one.  Will ever question the will of The Phoenix.

Seeing as the Village’s main purpose was the Shrine.  People from outside Realms came to in order to claim a Phoenix for themselves.  A small war broke out as Suzaku refused to give Phoenix’s to just anybody.  The war ended in tragedy as when leaving into one of the invading Realms Suzaku was killed.  This lead to the discovery of the Phoenix’s weak points.  The first one being if they are killed in another Realm there Essence can not return to The Hino Shrine.  All Phoenix’s can not stay in over Realms for to long without running low of Mana (Life Energy).  Jade stone is highly deadly to them.  It can cause extreme pain and even death.

Suzaku’s Last rule once introduced with her last breath.  It was named after her and is one of the most important rules there is.

Suzaku’s Law:  No Jade will ever be brought to The Hitoshirezu Village or even into the Boarders of The Hino Land.  If anyone brings Jade to the Land of even dare to attack a Phoenix while they are here with a Jade Weapon.  There Punishment will be torture, followed by a Public Execution.

Suzaku’s Ashes were gathered and placed in the Sacred Fire of The Hino Shrine.  The fire burned brighter after that and still burns that strong today.  It is said her essence is still in her ashes and watchers the shrine protecting it from the fire even today.

In honour of Suzaku all Phoenix’s all who ones who Share Phoenix blood must have there last name as Suzaku.  A festival is held every year on the day of her death to remember her.

Due to the fact that all Phoenix’s are women a law was also passed down that the Queen will be the main one reasonable for the running of the village.  Even she is married to man and makes him the King.  Also only a Queen can be the person who unites to people in marriage while they live in The Hitoshirezu Village.  Even if it is a Queen from another kingdom with in the Twelve Demon Lands.

The Village however has now been moved and goes from Realm to Realm every Seven Days.  The land of Hino has been divided up into different Tribes, with the village serving as a netrual place.
